This is a role that would suit an NQ to 4 years PQE of running a clinical negligence caseload and the role could be filled by a Solicitor or Legal Executive or equivalent fee earner.

Person specification
  • Knowledge of clinical negligence work, including complex and high-value matters
  • High levels of billing and time recording, depending on level of experience

Responsibilities
  • Running a caseload of claimant Clinical Negligence matters including complex and high-value matters
  • Working with supervision from a partner or supervisor to an agreed case plan
  • Keeping clients updated and running files in accordance with accepted standards and procedures
  • Dealing with costs implications and informing clients of these on a regular basis
  • Running a caseload quickly and efficiently while achieving the best possible results
  • Meeting challenging targets in terms of costs and work-in-progress
  • Advising on strategy, tactics and how best to achieve the most successful outcome
  • Maintaining a diary and flag up entries in according to procedure

The successful candidate will have knowledge of relevant forms and procedures, comply with procedures, professional standards and requirements set by outside funding agencies or insurers.

You will also contribute towards the business development of the department. This could include writing article for publication, attending events and pursuing your own marketing ideas or those agreed with your supervisor.

In addition, the candidate will assist with audit of external files, comply with SRA and other regulation including money laundering and data protection.
