Our client, a hugely respected and established law firm, are looking to appoint an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic Legal Secretary to join the Corporate Department within our client's Business Legal Services team.

The candidate must have a minimum of two years’ Legal Secretarial experience. Ideally, candidates should have a good background of experience within a busy corporate environment, however legal secretaries from other disciplines will be considered.
Excellent copy, document production and digital audio typing skills are essential with a good understanding of the need to prioritise when working with both clients and colleagues.
Duties will include audio transcription, formatting/amending documents and preparing bundles, filing, photocopying, collating information from various websites, generating monthly bills, liaising with cashiers, diary management and telephone contact with clients.
The candidate will need to be flexible when working for other fee earners across the departments, willing to learn and able to use their initiative.

Key skills and experience:
Experience of working as a Legal Secretary in a solicitor’s practice
Fast and accurate typing
draft non legal correspondence
manage and organise large volumes of documents
Confident in use of email and other systems in daily work
Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Aim Evolution accounting package
OMS document management.
BigHand digital dictation.

Working for various teams within a high volume residential conveyancing environment, you should be able to:

• Efficiently and diligently deal with Exchanges and completions
• Submit searches and complete Land Registry Applications
• Complete various conveyancing forms and documents

Suitable candidates will have experience in Residential Property law. Previous assistant experience is essential for this role ideally gained within a busy property environment. Candidates will have excellent communication and IT skills with the ability to prepare completion statements and accounts.

Daily responsibilities will include answering calls from clients and dealing with their enquiries both face to face and over the telephone, dealing with exchanges and completions.
